TARGET AUDIENCERecommended for all staff and volunteers in AOD, mental health, and social and emotional wellbeing settings, including management, administration, and ancillary staff members.
MODULE AIMThe aim of this module is to build your understanding of trauma and introduce key principles underpinning trauma-informed care.
LEARNING OUTCOMES

By the end of this module you will be able to:

  • define trauma and place it within the stress continuum
  • describe the different types of trauma
  • describe the prevalence of trauma among AOD and mental health clients
  • describe the ‘Four Rs’ of trauma-informed care
  • explain how trauma-informed care benefits both clients and workers.
